Office of the Complaints Commissioner

Welcome

The Complaints Commissioner (the Commissioner) was created to investigate complaints about the Financial Services Authority. These investigations are completed within the scope of the Complaints Scheme.

The main scheme deals with complaints about the Financial Services Authority.

The Transitional Scheme deals with complaints about predecessor bodies covered by previous legislation which existed before the Financial Services Authority’s powers came into effect on 1st December 2001.

A more detailed explanation can be found on the About page.

The Commissioner does not investigate complaints about firms, the Financial Ombudsman Service or other regulatory bodies.

The current Commissioner is Sir Anthony Holland. He was originally appointed on 3rd September 2004 and whose reappointment to the role has been confirmed from 3rd September 2007 for a further three years. Further details about Sir Anthony and his staff can be found on the Profile page.
